Harvi encapsulated in ice fog

"Harvi" Thief River Falls, Mn.

Albeit not related to vhf radio aurora, I do find these old machines quite fascinating.   During these solar doldrums, or at least until the background x-ray flux may try to manage a meager B1 or higher value, perhaps the public would enjoy a few photos of the beacons of yesteryear.  Whilst listening for the aurora one thing was most certainly true, if one could hear ndb’s, there was to be no aurora.   The photo is from Thief River Falls, Minnesota (EN18wa) on a cold November morning.  HY is seldom copied.  Frequency is 260 kcs with about 1028 hz (+) offset.   If one looks closely, a nice eggbeater can be seen atop the antenna.
